Betsy: You're going on the roof?

Katie (Adament): NO! (pause.) Not today. Wednesday.

Betsy: Why are you going on the roof on Wednesday?

Katie: I am going to get a space ship. I need to get a space ship on Wednesday. Daddy will lift me up.

While getting ready to go to the lake....

Katie: I don't need shoes to go swimming in the lake....just toes.

Age

While playing "Polar Coaster" in a way-too-fast moving wagon, Zach and Katie asked me to stand on the grass (for self-preservation). I sat on the grass.

Zach: You're SITTING in line.

Betsy: Well, I'm going to sit. I'm old.

Katie: Why you old?

Betsy: (Pause) Well, you have something to do with it...

Katie: (Concerned) You're not old. You're new!

It's so easy being green

I've written elsewhere about Katie's love of (maybe I should say her indoctrination into?) the music from Wicked. She's always been strictly a Glinda girl - way better costumes and there's that killer solo, "Popular". But today she told me that she's experimenting with Bad Witch territory...in particular with different media to achieve that green skin. We can't decide which best expresses Katie's evil alter ego.
